As we go about our daily lives, it’s easy to get tunnel vision, failing to notice the beauty and possibilities around us. Caught up in our own worldview, we might miss the struggles of someone nearby, fail to see the complexity of other peoples’ stories, or lose sight of the way our own personal lens shapes our interpretations. Sometimes a new perspective is what we need.

New Year’s Day brings the promise of fresh beginnings and new ways to see the things that may blind us from seeking a better future. It’s an opportunity to use a different lens, to shift our view so that we can observe people and places through a better filter.

Sometimes the smallest changes make the most difference, and the best changes are the ones we make in ourselves. May we all be open to new perspectives in 2017.

How are you going to shift your perspective in 2017?!
