An instrumental part of Public Strategies since 2003, Sammye Norvell Cravens acts as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing day-to-day business operations and contractual obligations. She also provides strategic planning and analysis, corporate control, system implementation, negotiations, and treasury services for Public Strategies. Cravens’ operational expertise is complemented by her strong communication and interpersonal skills, which allow her to help foster a thriving corporate culture. She also oversees Public Strategies’ nine properties, which allow the organization to provide consulting or direct services in multiple locations across the state.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Cravens is also a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, Oklahoma Society of CPAs, and the Economic Club of Oklahoma. She is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City Class XIII and Leadership Oklahoma Class X.
Prior to joining Public Strategies, she held positions with McDonald’s Corporation, Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation and Ernst & Young LLP (EY US). In addition to serving as the 2023-2024 Board Chair for Leadership Oklahoma, Cravens has served on boards and in other leadership roles for various nonprofit entities including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Oklahoma State Firefighters Memorial Committee, and Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County. Cravens is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
